We modified our beautiful barn to house the Starr Ranch Winery and crushed our first fruit there in October 2006. Multi-talented winemakers, Phil Stevens and Jacob Raines, guided, advised and did the hard work to achieve the transformation. The Starr Ranch label made its debut in January 2009 with the 2006 Estate Syrah. Starr Ranch bottlings will focus on Rhône varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Bordeaux-style blend. Currently available are the 2010 whites and a rosé and the 2008 reds. A complete array of 2009 red wines (including two reserve wines) will be released in November 2011. We will begin to harvest pistachios on November 1st. Growers of Pistachios and Grapes. Feeders of pet geese, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats. Restaurant coming soon. The Starr Ranch also has almost 90 acres of certified organic walnuts. They are a delicious and healthy mix of Hartleys, Chandlers and Serrs. (ADDED: August 10, 2016, JBS) -
